 About Zachary

Being a young, quiet kid from Shreveport, I've always had some form of expressing myself creatively. ART was one of them.

”

I had a lot of time to myself since I was an only child during the early portion of my youth. The majority of that time was spent admiring the impact of my favorite shows and movies from the late nineties. This admiration became the catalyst for expressing myself creatively. At age fourteen, I took up writing scripts, developed a passion for drawing, and became a video editor after getting my first IntelPlay camera. What started out as hobbies would continue to fuel my long-term vision of creating an animated series.

I have had a number of influences throughout my life. As a child, I was inspired by material from Nickelodeon of the late nineties and early two-thousands. The Pixar classic Toy Story, the films of the Disney Renaissance, Peanuts specials, Fat Albert, Our Gang shorts, Hanna-Barbera cartoon shorts, and Japanese anime were some of my early influences. Films by Spike Lee and Hayao Miyazaki and television shows like Friday Night Lights, The Boondocks, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, and black-ish are some of my current influences. But, the most important inspiration for me is LIFE.

At the age of twenty-six, I continue to develop my craft as a writer, artist, and editor. I have written and developed ideas ranging from live-action to animated television shows. I would eventually find my way into storyboarding. Currently, I write and storyboard animated shorts for my twelve-year-old cartoon titled Dwayne & The Gang. I look forward to the opportunity of continuously learning and working on my craft.
